I've never actually seen a full grown one. Seen some with red faces and other random sorts on google to the point that I'm not even sure what it is that I'm looking at. Was thinking of getting one for a solo 75 in my basement. Who's got pics? (Preferably one that's over 9-10")

I just did a quick google image search and found quite a few good looking ones. I've got to say though, this one really caught my attention. It's not mine but wow!!! I certainly hope mine looks this nice when it grows up.

That's a red race of V. bifasciatus, not V. hartwegi, although I can see from a quick google search that it has been mis-identified.
Here's a nice shot of a hartwegi I found a while back:

And I believe Nutty has or had some nice blue adults if you want to dig around the forum pages for them.
I got some harwegi from Ken Davis in Feb and they're starting to put on some nice colors but nowhere near to full grown so in the meantime I'm waiting in anticipation.

Thank you for the correction, I appreciate it. Sorry to post the bad information, I just wish I could say it will be the last time I do it. )

I have a vieja hartwegi, a vieja zonatum, a vieja bifasciatus, and a vieja maculicauda. I don't think I should add any more of them to my tank or I would start looking for one like the picture I posted above. I am a vieja fan though, their colors and personality are awesome. I received the bifasciatus and the maculicauda came from Rapps about 2 1/2 years ago. The hartwegi and zonatum came from Ken a couple of months ago. The hartweigi is still a juvie but I can already tell he / she is going to be beautiful.

I have had a few, but they never turned out extraordinary.

My horrible photograhy aside, mine is one of my favorite fish. The color is great, and I haven't seen one for sale in my area since I bought it.
