common name sooty grunter, hepheatus fuligiosus or hephaetus jenkinsi
without a doubt toughest fish i ever put in a fish tank ,the eastern form(fuligiosus) grows to 4.5 kgbut the western sooty is a bit smaller but much more agressive

Try spellcheck. I am shure it will help you find the toghest phish!
We're not on here to pay out on people's spelling. Judging from some of your other posts you ain't perfect either. Shall we get back to the topic then...

I assume you mean fish actually kept by MFK hobbyists. So this would rule out Killer whales etc.

In my experience of fish I keep its the Wallago leerii. My female is about 54" and she has killed or badly beaten a number of fish I consider tough including Bagarius yarelli (in same tank from 1997 to 2009 when the 36" goonch disappeared), Hemibagrus wyckii, and Phractocephalus hemioliopterus.

She does win most fights but that does not mean the biggest red tail and the male Wallago don't leave marks on her at times when fighting with her.
