WHO's YOUR DADDY

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My vote is for the armatus as well.. Woody had to split his ATF and armatus because the ATF was getting his *** kicked by the 24" armatus ... and the ATF is about the same size!

couldnt be the armatus, look at the shape of the wound and the shape of the fishes mouth mouth....yea id rule that fish out, the puzzle does not fit, an armatus cant rip out chunks since its teeth are designed to spear and hold onto fish, i would be expecting punture holes from the teeth if it was that fish.

another atf ????

That's what I'm thinking after what del said ... I still don't think the armatus is out of the running though. Could have pierced it and then just ripped a chunk out.

For those who said ARMATUS... that is correct.

It's not a chunk that's missing. Just looks like it. Imagine getting a knife and slicing your wrist. The skin would tear open exposing the inner meat. That's what happened to him. The slash was pretty long that it tore through the skin below the scales. Before when he clipped him it was just the scales.

He's fine otherwise. He's eating, swimming, like nothing has happened. As for for treating just normal daily water changes and plenty of salt.

you could use this as a reason to set up another monster tank one for atf and one for armatus hope it pulls through ok

Damn! It is happening to you too! The armatus that I got does the exact same thing. He dishes it out to his tankmates and takes it too! I remember one day I came home and my temensis had one bloody eye. I knew right off the bat that the armatus was the culprit. Everyday my armatus surprises me with his attitude. I am glad that I was able to pick one up. Even when I had redtail payara they were very agro, not taking junk from anybody. Not as agro as the armatus but, agro none the less. If anyone else has a chance to pick up an armatus, do it you will not be dissapointed!:D

Not dissapointed in what?- Having it kick the crap out of my other fish. No thanks. These fish are very territorial and it looks like the bigger they get the more aggressive. It's probably best to keep them in a tank by themselves or with bottom dwellers.

Joey, get that GATF out of there. He's too nice of a fish get beaten up by a payara. Sorry, I'm GATF biased.
