Hey Hey,

Okay so bout 2 weeks ago while cleaning our mbuna tank we noticed a tiny baby fly by the bottom of the tank....was very surprised and trying to figure out where it came from....well from coloring today i believe it came from Mohawk, our female red top hongi, bc of the coloring of the baby today which hes a pale pale orangish-yellow and he has a pretty high dorsal fin and on the tip is a brighter orange then the body-like mama....[who is carrying again as i type]

Now we are trying to figure out who the daddy not be. We have a few fish in the tank {red/orange blotched zebra,blue johanni,snow white mbuna,a duboisi, and Mohawk herself }

Now i beleive the Duboisi is also a female but other then that the others i beleive to be mae but cant be sure. Delta-The Blue johanni stays to himself, Garfield-The R/OB zebra is a swimmer but also likes his space but is frequintly around Mohawk, and Luna- The Snow White; well he runs the tank lolso its really hard to tell whose doing what...if anyoone can think of aother way id be able to tell that be really helpful.

My fish all get along really well-The have a Pretty Tidy Tank Leader!

Im including quite a few photos-including the baby so look good lol;tho they are not the best!

*Sabrina*

The OB zebra is a female and the tropheus is not able to breed with the mbuna, so there are only two options: the snow white socolofi or the johani. I think it is from the snow white one, though it looks pretty yellow now. If it starts to get a longitudinal stripe at all, it might be out of the johani, but the vertical barring is indicative of the socolofi.

Honestly it looks something like a young male kenyi or a crabro. My money is on the johanni though, he is the only one that would carry the yellow gene. The stripes could have come from the mother/is just a juvenile mbuna thing.

Since it cannot be a pure fish, does it matter which is the father?
