What size is that tank?
Its actually a 20 gallon; ik ik "its too small" lol i hear ya, but right now i have them in there until they get a lil bigger. Theyve been together for awhle and have no issues at the moment. I do have to clean there specific tank at least 2x a week. I do plan on switching them to the bigger tank eventually. Sorry it took a minute to get back. Have a nice day.

thanks for your info...and how do i know the OB Zebra is female? just for future reference?? thanks again
It is hard to tell in the picture, but with zebras, males have a lot of egg spots on the anal fin and they also are bluer than females (females are typically a deep orange, males are paler).
For reference this is my dominant male zebra:

Agreeing with Deadeye about the egg spots and more blue. Male OB zebras are called "marmalade cats" and have a very pretty blue overlay, as well as some length to their fins. Your fish looked like the fins were very rounded.

I am not suprised they spawned, but I am suprised they are getting along with so many males and so few females in any sized tank. As soon as they are 2 inches (including tail) they are ready for a 48" tank.

Hey MFK,
Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the Holidays.

not by alot am writing to update on the lone baby fish that came from my Red Top Hongi Mbuna and coulnt figure out who she bred with. Well i do have photos now s/he is about an inch now maybe a lil smaller but not by much. Now i couldnt figure out if she breeded with Delta [blue johanni] or with Luna [snow white] but ws told to keep an eye on the colors. Well ive noticed and its a lil harder to see it in pix, but if you can make it out awesome. The baby has in the dorsal fin orange with a streak of blue right below and back to orange [thats very hard tto see] and in the body s/hes definitely got vertical stripes just like mama mohawk, but it also looks like s/hes got 2 horizontal lines as well. I will post pics below.

Thanks Everyone!

PS: yes fish are doing good still but theyve been together forever but know there places till they can be switched. And the babies all over the tank. The baby and my rainbow shark always together or chasing EACHOTHER lol there really fun to watch thats for sure. Ok enough; here come the photos. Thanks again!

With its shape, I’m kind of leaning towards zebra. An issue is that juveniles almost always look the same, may need to put on a little more size and color before you can tell for sure.

the red blotched zebra? and yes i will continue to post pics as it grows; soon i definitely have to get them into the bigger tank eventually only to be fair, but i keep alot of plants in the tank for plenty of hiding places plus a coconut and a skull and we clean it at least 2x a week altho sometimes we only get it done once a week. Thanks for your reply.
