Old school rap dates back to Sugar Hill and others such as Grand Master Flash. Tupac and NWA are not true old school. I'd consider them to be stars of the Middle Ages of rap. Rap started in the mid 70's. Let's not forget rap's origin.

A better discussion is Best athlete that YOU'VE seen play in your life. All music discussion should follow the same criteria. it'd be interesting to redo the list and change it to best rapper in YOUR life time and start with your childhood when music really really spoke to you.
saying nwa is old school is relative to me
all new rap an hip hop sucks- i like old school easy e, old school westside connection, crutial conflict, anything older than 2000 i think.
