The biggest 'secret' is waiting 10-15 yrs 
Clown Loaches are sloooow growing long-lived fish. Mine are kept at 80 degrees, below 7 ppm nitrates, fed like crazy and haven't even grown 1/2" in a year. They just grow incredibly slow, probably because they're such long lived fish.

Going to want about an 8 foot tank to get them that large as fast as possible I'd say - it will still take at least 10 years...they seem to stop growing at around 4-6"

this is the only thing i HATE about loaches. i wish they grew faster. have a seat, youre gonna be waiting for a while. youll need a decade, at least!!
