Mussel? Where do you base that on?

I feed green mussels as a bulking food, I've never seen a feeding frenzy like it. It's pure protein.

I have heard of a clown loach living as old as 100 not sure that's absolute, but here is an article on clown loaches as old as 50. It will take anywhere from 11-15 years to get mature size. I had two that was 9 years old and reached 8" then the ich from a JD that I picked up killed them.

100 years is a bit ridiculous but 50 years sounds more reasonable. I have heard of them living to 43 years in public aquaria.

mine go crazy over hikari carn. pellets and i got them when my tank was over run with snails and i haven't seen one snail for about 1 yr

80 years, my foot.:screwy: That guy can only claim anything. Pics?

The trade for Leptobotia elongata is almost non-existent. I don't believe anyone still has those loaches. Leptobotia pellegrini though are another story but these ones don't reach sizes beyond 8-10 inches.
i didnt ask for pics

My fastest growing clown loach needed 2 years to grow from 2 inches to 8 inches and is still growing strongly. I also had a friend years ago who got a cl to grow from 1.5 inches to 6 inches in 6 months by feeding earth worms. The loaches´ partner only reached 2.5 inches on the same diet however. I guess growth rates can vary greatly under optimal conditions. I´ve noticed that some individuals are just plain and simple pigs... I mean pig loaches of course :D
