You guys do realize that piercings like this are only kept in for the pictures right? It's not like she's walking around town with her mouth ribboned shut. It's called "play piercing."

Some of us think it's funny that we're novelties to a lot of people in the first place... I took out most of my metal but I still get questions about the scars, and it still amuses me.

Their reasons varied but they all seemed pretty happy with themselves and their decisions. I don't think people that self expressive are made for the corporate/retail/straight laced mold anyhow.

some of the tattoo artist pictured here are not only employed, they probably make more money and enjoy their job more than the OP
 
this guy is famous and he makes a fortune traveling the world doing shows and things.
