Why are candiru illegal???

So i was wondering why candirus illegal at least in florida???

Ability to survive in non-native waters when an irresponsible person releases them into local waters. There were several threads on here from years ago (12 years ago ish) about guys going to Florida on fishing expeditions for non-native species and catching amazing specimens from drainage ponds and the like.

Poor Florida hobbyists,for obvious reasons so many popular aquarium fish are not allowed to be kept there.I wasn't aware that the candiru was in that category.

Wait candirus are legal everywhere else

I don't recall hearing of them being illegal anywhere else and I don't see why anybody would want one.
