Nope, convict cichlids would not even get near them unless there is food around . Do you think this "depressive" behavior will last for long? Should i wait it out or try something else. It really gets me when i see them doing that.
I totally understand why you're upset. I freak out when my fish do anything I consider out of the ordinary! Do you or does anyone (I am not sure here) think that if he rearranged it back to the way it was, it would fix their behavior?
Same thing just happened to me a couple months ago. Same size O, and he just sulked and didnt eat much or do much for about a month. He also became VERY aggressive during this time. then all of a sudden he snapped out of it and has been more active than ever, growing 2" in a month! so I wouldnt be to worried about them
Cons can be nasty brats, your sure they aren't harassing them when lights go out or when you leave the room? sounds silly I know. but cichlids are smart. My O will sulk if I don't give him live when he wants it -.-... looks at me.. looks at the feeder tank... looks at the pellets floating.. lays down and just sulks... until I give in and toss some feeders in >.<.. then he'll eat the feeders and his pellets merrily.
