But can the piranhas reproduce in that areas? Its my question to you guys.

even if they can't reproduce, I presume laws are to prevent someone from stepping in a warm spring with a shoal of piranha that were turned loose by dummy. LOL.
I'm at a high elevation in Calif= warm springs are warm in sub freezing weather and warm creeks run for quite a ways...

Whether they can breed in these natural and artificially warmer waters is irrelevant. If a risk has been presumed by the lawmakers that's the impetus that drove the law into being.

I think there should be a way to pay to have them monitored.the owners of course just a update. Of size and quantity

Okay then put down my cat because he is a risk to wildlife in the area because he kills native birds in my area. Seriously? Its a stupied law. When did lawmakers know anything about fish? spesh about man eating piranha

Yup just like everything illegal, its attainable and accessible, and perhaps be a big fine/jail time but anything is possible. Im sure there are many hobbyists secretly keeping Snakeheads in the states. And Ive seen many CL ads for Piranhas in the past, they are illegal in California.

In the end, be safe than sorry.
