What sparked your interest, how did you get involved in this hobby? Waht are your goals? This is pretty wide open. LET US KNOW:headbang2

Damn all the chicks.. Im walkin in the store, and she's like, "dude, I hear you have fish!" And I'm like, "You bet I do". and shes all like, "Let me see em." So then I take her home with me, and show her the fish! Then she's all like, "Wow, those are some amazing fish" and i'm like, "Oh Yeah."

i was 9 when i seen my first pacu.guy at the LFS had said they stayed around 6" so bought 2 ( no net back then to research ) and they had a 55gal that leaked and i had to reseal it.kept them four months until power went out for 4 days in winter and they died but thats my start.

Fourth grade we had a classroom tank, I then soon had a goldfish bowl, followed by a 10g tank. By seventh grade I was up to a 55g, 20g, 10g and a big wash tub on the back porch that I kept whatever natives/wilds I could catch. That was some 30 years ago.

My Dad kept fish when I was young. I couldn't help with the up-keep back then, but he let me "have one". I added a dwarf african frog to the tank. Little did I know his "kissing fish" (gourami) would eat him in three days. I hated those fish ever since.

Oddly enough, you would think that story would keep me away from fish keeping. But in general, I find them fascinating. I started keeping bettas, but didn't think they did too well in jars and vases, so I started keeping them in real tanks. The tanks needed more than just a betta to justify all that work, so naturally I had to learn about more types of fish. I went with tetras and platies at first, and now I'm into some cichlids (no bettas in that tank). I didn't intend to breed them, but I guess I have some fry on the way now, lol. Only time will tell where I'm heading.

I don't remember when it started. But I got this 10 gallon tank and then some Neons......

My goal is 1000gal or bigger and to get back my dedicated fish room (I had 9 tanks in the old one, lost it when we moved to a smaller house). As far as getting chicks I'm married and my wife hates my hobby :bs:

I've always had a fish interest. From the time I was a little kid, I had a fish tank or bowl. What got me into monster fish keeping was my desire to be clean and sober. I needed to do something productive with my time while I was getting sober. The whole idea is--idle hands are the devil's tools kind of thing. When I would feel the urge to drink or use I would do a wc on a big tank--5g bucket style. It has helped me through some hard times---I love this hobby!!!!!!!!!!!

Found out you could own piranhas in Ohio. (Use to live in WA)

Bought a tank, set it all up. The I started searching and reading and changed my mind on what I wanted about 400 times.

I think I've settled on a wolf fish. We'll see what tomorrow brings.
