Why bare bottom?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks, if you do a bare bottom in my opinion white is the way to go with most rays. I use to do black bottoms and have ruined rays colors because of it. If anyone questions is FRP safe I will add I have had it in my 750 for 1 1/2 years now and have had 5 sets of pups with it.

You just silicone it to the bottom of the tank?

No just layed it in tank like a big mat. It is pretty flexible so it can be bent to get in the tank. I cut it with a circular saw. Not sure why pics are sideways but here is another.

The frp doesn't trap debris under it? I've been looking for something for awhile to put in my 750(10x4) bottom, but I would have to cut into a few pieces to get through my opening cut outs and was worried it would get all sort out debris under it over time?

It may get a little under it, I said I used a circular saw but remembered now I actually used sheet metal cutters. It is thin material. You could use a straight edge and a utility knife and cut a straight line and snap sheet by bending. If doing in multiple pieces getting a straight cut to mate pieces will be a challenge but not impossible. I use a sponge mop to clean it when in tank so if anything did get under it the pressure of the mop would squeegee it out.
