So it turns out that it was parasitic. I lost another one due to labored breathing.

A few of the them in the tank began to get white spots/ick. Maybe it was ick that restricted if breathing in the gills. :(

Been treating with salt/quick cure and increased temp and O2.

I hope I don't lose anymore during the process.
 
You should NEVER treat ich with quick cure AND salt together. :nilly:

It's one or the other.

A lot of people on the Discus' forum use this combination without a problem to treat Discus'.

And I have used this method with discus and Roseline sharks with success.

Any fish.

The combination of formalin and salt strip the fish not only from its Cuticle ( consisting of mucus, antibodies and lysozymos) but also of the Epidermis ( Malpighain cells) and Goblet Cells ( mucus secreting) which leave the fish unprotected to infections, sometime called as skin burn. Also damaging the gills.
