Why did my puffer die (pics)

hello everyone from what i can see my puffer had some type of external parasite, but im not sure. He also had a slightly bloated stomach, could he have eaten something? I do have ich in the tank, but from what I can see He didn't die of ich, the bubbles are clear and way to big.

That's a lot of gas. Are there other bubbles in the tank (on the rock, sides or other fish)? Supersaturation?

Puffers are very suseptible to cryptocaryon, so if it's in the tank, it probably has it.
There are many other factors though to consider. Bloated could just be a post mort thing in the fish, or it could point to a bacterial infection internally.

did you a water change and this happened after?

there are other bubbles on the sides of tank, is this bad, and yes i did just do a 20% water change 2 days before

Sounds like External Bubble Disease http://www.chucksaddiction.com/disease.html (half way down the page) Its caused when there is to much airation in the water., therefore to much gas which causes problems.
Do you have powerful airation in the tank?
