Yea I am sure mine was a female I used to breed reds. They are very cool in pairs.... so nice to each other as they would rip large cichlids in half.
can you please tell me at what size your reds began to pair up ,and how many did you start out with to find the pair ?, also what size tank did you manage to spawn the reds in ? , can you give more details on this ,maybee even write a bit of an article on this (ie your experiance with breeding reds) i would be very interested in what you have to say , there is not much information out there on breeding reds , i know someone in germany who sucsessfully managed it , but have not heard of other reports allough iam sure it has been done a fair few times , most people who breed them are large fish farms
