it looks like they got burned from the heater, or they bit each other? they have had this since before i had them with the lava rock so it isn't that they have been biting that, but it worries me because it won't go away:

not the teeth, below that, they have a red thing surrounding their teeth, and a red strip running from below their teeth to their chin.

Your fish may has early signs of Flexibacter columnaris. It's harder to tell with a white fish as the initial growth is whitish patches on the lips and body.
