Why do you want fish to grow fast?

I've never understood the big deal with using beef heart as fish food.It seemed to be pretty popular years ago but not so much these days.I never bothered trying it with my fish.
 
no fish ever crawled out of the water, made its way to Texas and killed a cow to eat its heart, makes no sense to me. red meat is not a part of a fishes diet. far as cichlids go.
 
Adult fish have all of their full color when big such as a lot of haps. Small ones just look brown/olive but the blues pop as the fish reach maturity.
 
off topic but why am i getting pop ups now at sight. this will drive me off.
