Why does my oscar sleep like it's dead?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
why? theyve been living toghether for months now? and wont the dominance of the bigger one even out once the littler one has grown to the same size?

it has nothing to do with the fact that they have been living together.. it's the fact that they grow to over the size of dinner plates, and your tank is barely big enough for 1 of them.

I've seen oscars sleep like dead a lot of time, but usually the oscar are smaller than 20 cm(8in) I never seen bigger oscar do that so this could be just normal! how are they eating? any fight at all? and tank size!

read through the thread and you can answer the questions you just asked yourself.

my tank size is fine. they have plenty of space to swim. people have their own opinions and i know that my fish can all swim freely. seriously im upgrading within the next month anyway so don't judge me..

i'm not judging you.. just making an accurate statement/answer to a question you posted. Your tank may be fine for you, but it's simply not large enough for 2 grown oscars. Yes, everyone has their own opinions, but what's not is an opinion is that you have 2 Oscars together in a tank in which will not house them BOTH for life.

You're upgrading.. let's make a thread for every person who says this. Post pics when it happens, and then no one will say anything about your tank size.

Chill. Seriously. You asked a question, and someone answered it.

yeah i am upgrading, ive sold my fluval 405 and an old computer, im 15 so money is tight. and also finding something on ebay which is 50 miles or less away is hard, and also getting something which will be able to transport the tank is hard too. i have to reply on family members to drive for me. i have to persuade my dad to let me upgrade. i have to build a stand with my own money and my own DIY skills. the last thing i need is moaning people

Stop acting like a 15 year old if you want to have a conversation with adult. I agree with mshill90 your tank is too small do some research before you get fish, you should have known that it was possible for your Oscars to fight and obviously since one is way bigger. Even when the white one grows to the same size as the bigger one they are just going to kill each other in that small of a tank. Doubtful that they will last that long if kept in their current situation.

lolo well see

if your fish is 2 female or 1male 1 female, they will be fine. but if you have 2 male, the big one will kill the small one!
