mollies prefere brackish water but snails dont do well with salt

I never added salt to my pond nor tanks have mollies-platies-swordtails the breed like mice granted ph is liquid cement as it is Florida but never used any salt.

I have seen wild molloes in the local lake its fresh to no salt . I think key is high ph salt isnt needed . I do like apple snails might give one a try

It depends on what species of madtom you have, I catch tadpole madtoms in water that is 85 degrees or higher in the summertime.

they do put their syphons up sometimes to test the water depth. if you just did a water change then im sure it was testing to see how much you filled the tank LOL. they tend to like a couple of inches at the top to either lay eggs or to just slime it up. ^.<
