why does prime smell so bad?

i got it on my hand and i washed my hands until they were raw and i swore i could still smell it... only reason i ask

It stinks, which is why I do not use it. I used Kent Dechlorinator instead :thumbsup:It is just as effective as prime, at same dosage.

I agree it stinks. But that is why it works so well. It is 100% conditioner rather than the other diluted less smelling brands. I have to use it, there is no way I could replace water ina 700 gallon using a conditioner at a capful per 10 gallons.

Kent Dechlorinator uses the same treat rate :D without the smell.

Im using API stress coat now. Was thinking of switching to prime after I used up my current conditioner. But not sure about it now. Stress coat smells nice like aloe vera
