Why don't more people use a pump to do water changes?

I hard plumbed the tank to a septic field and hard plumbed water to the tank. Also used an in-line static mixer on the water and adjusted temp... Water changes couldn't be easier! I still vacuum the old fashion way, with siphon and bucket, but I'm working on that small issue.

I've been using a pump now for a few years and it has made my water changes much easier but I do tend to get lazy about vacuming the gravel. I try to do this every other week.
