Why Flowerhorns?

I'm not trying to be a jerk or start a fight. Flowerhorns don't do anything for me but I've never seen one in person (except for juvies for sale). I'm curious what is so appealing about them? Do they have good personalities or are they really cool looking in person? It might just be my tastes, just wondering if there was something I'm missing?

Personally, i dislike most hybrids of course unless it is a hybrid of a RTC. But in general like Bloodparrots, FH's and hybrid haps/mbunas are highly disliked by a large percentage of fishkeepers. I don't like their huge kok on their head, it is so ugly in my oppinion.
 
no insult taken... you can say my fish is ugly to my face and it will not affect me. Some people think it will look ugly and I think it's one of the most beautiful fish out there.
 
If you like the midas/devil personality you will like the flowerhorns personality. If your into colorful fish you will like the fh. I was a skeptical till I bought one. I've had mine since Sept. and he's already my favorite fish!
 
i think they are beautiful but there tud is crap i love and hate mine

Your comment isnt making much since bro. If you dont like Flowerhorns, post a real reason why. "Im not trying to pick a fight", however I should left you know that all flowerhorns dont have NH-KoK's. So your reason for not liking them is...

Flowerhorn tend to have the "base" Midas/Red Devil personality. However all dont. To me, the best thing about Flowerhorns is their color and pearls. I like the head on the, however I do not like the monster heads. You know I dont have a problem with anyone whom doesnt like hybrids, bro I really dont. However I tend to flame when people say things like. I hate hybrids, and then you go to their home and they own a RTC/TSN cross like its not a hybrid. There are plenty of purist here who only except natural sp, as you can see Im not one of those people. I love fish with personality. FH have that. I also keep Dats, CL, Royal Plecs(hoping they will let me have feed them) and a few other fish. After typing all this mumbojumbo it all boils down to preference. If you choose not to like them, please just have a real reason why and not try to make up a reason.
 
I started fish keeping with red devils and midas because I love their personality. I always hated africans because they just bore the crap out of me. Ever since I learned about flowerhorns I've wanted to keep them. They have pretty much the same personality of all the fish I loved before just better traits in general. When picking a midas or red devil you don't have much to chose from whether it be orange, barred, piebald f1, f2 whatever.. When picking a flowerhorn your possibilities are almost endless. You can't say **** about them until you own one IMO. As long as you don't buy a ugly low-grade one (which would be your fault) then you should end up with a fish you will love for a long time.
