i like them because they seem to be tha master of cichlids, i have a tank divided up with fhs and no ones ever been able to put their hands in it yet.
I just hate it when I'd to take mine out from the tank during maintenance due to its biting habit.. I haven't been bitten by a mature one though, must have hurt like :WHOA:

when it comes down to it, if you can appreciate beautiful colors, patterns, body shape and great personalities, then you will love Flowerhorns... simple as that!

if you dont like FHs go buy one it will grow on you!!!!

I didn't like most flowerhorns or hybrids until I saw Thai Silk/Titaniums and Super Red Texas's, those two really caught my eye and thier 'wet pet' personality makes them even more appealing. Those are the two reasons really.

I only recently came across some Titaniums that were affordable enough so I grabbed a couple and as much as I like the SRT's they're well out of my comfortable price range so I don't feel the need to buy one. I still don't really care for most other variations of flowerhorns and I'm not a fan of monster humps.

If you think flowerhorns look to unnatural because of thier coloring or other physical attributes you should start looking at the thousands of available saltwater fish that'll make flowerhorns look downright boring. It's only a matter of time before I venture into that realm.

Everything about them is nice.. The only bad thing ppl can say about them is that they are hybrids. But they are not just hybrids. They are super insane hybrids that they become a FH!!

Need a reason why I love them? Here for you if you havent done research.. Those who say these are ugly are only lying and denying. Personality depends on the fish... But they are cichlids so you can guess or try.

Hey, I remember Franco.. isn't he the green fish? I remember calling him the aquatic HULK on other forum(dont quite remember which)..

mmm... I dont think you got the right fish.. Was the name Franco? Franco for Franco Columbo.

It comes down to different strokes for different folks...

The way that I see it, if you like big, mean, bump-headed, colorful wild-type cichlids...then flowerhorns just provide more of what you already like...

I've never understood the antipathy that some people have for flowerhorns...when other "fancy" fish have served as the foundation of the hobby forever.

well one mans meat is another mans poison

in my opinion flowerhorns are one of the most beautiful fish i have ever seen.....their mind blowing colouring, patterns, sparkles, flowerlines, nuchual humps, etc ....just like a masterpiece in my eyes

added to that is their attitude towards others....they are fierce......true monsters.....yet they somehow manage to catch ur attention and it seems like they actually know and respond to their owners!!!!

Haven't finished reading the thread yet but I gotta say it's the Flowerhorn personality that I fell for. I'm not much on how a fish looks but personality is everything. I never understood the attraction to a FH. Until I met my 1st one. That fish rushed up to the glass and I swear he turned his head side to side just like a puppy. Very aware of everything going on in the room. I read up on them and come to find out 90% of FH's are that way. I LOVE mine.Timmy's a mean SOB and will draw blood if I'm not fast enough but he's got charisma!
