Why Get Something only to half starve it?

I agree, although regulating the feeding isn't necessarily bad for the fish, expecially bottom feeders. In the wild they probably eat considerably less then we in the aquaria trade feed them. And that power can greatly be used to our advantage. For example i've cut back on feeding my 14" TSN and have been feeding my baby (3") RTC twice daily so he grows big enough to put in the 250g with the TSN without any canabalism. But research and resourses for the fish' life are essential.

I agree with this when it comes to regualting growth I am doing the same thing!!!!

As for the OP, I agree with the post, BUT!!!, I do recall many threads which were started and being the lovely community we are actually changed the minds of many "newbies" resulting in them taking the fish back to the LFS..(which sucks also because the fish will probably end up in the hands of someone who probably doesn't care enough to even get on a forum to check them out) It can be frustrating to answer the same questions over and over again, but imagine how slow this forum would be if we didn't have to do that. I just picked up a juruense with absoluetly no info on him at all. I saw him and had to have him. I know I can house anything I buy so I wasn't worried about that. It has taken me 4 days of research so far and to be honest I have not 10% of the info i want to know about him. I am haveing to find most of the info out on my own

while i agree with but sides to a degree. you must realise there are no hard and set rules for fishkeeping, it's a matter of opinion and is debatable...

i know for a fact that overstocked tanks etc. can have fish that look increadibly healthy, even compared to a lot of understocked tanks.

so long as your fish is healthy i have no problems
