I have a true festae but it seems like most people have green terrors. Im just wondering why? maybe size, looks, availabilty?
why go with a GT over a RT?

There are completely and totally different fish... with very little in common other than they both have the word "Terror" in their common name...
One is a red/orange fish and the other is a blue/green fish...
One gets considerably larger than the other...
One typically gets a good bit more aggressive than the other...
etc, etc, etc...

Not me, I much prefer festae, but GTs are more readily available, and generally more tankmate friendly.
GT are just more available to the general public. Most people have to buy and get festaes shipped to them. I've never owned either so I couldn't say which I prefer, except for female festae for their color.
I personally like the green terror a lot better. I think it looks better and true festae are harder to come by. Also I have had both and my green terror had a lot more personality compared to the red festae I had. I owned both fish at differant times.
I like the flashy colors of the Green Terrors, the good size with moderate cichlid aggression while still allowing a community setup, and the easy breeding.
