Why god WHY?!?!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
This can't be good for the ceiling underneath your floor if you are on an upper level of the house.....One of the reasons all of my tanks are in the basement with a drain in the center of the floor.

i hope everything turns out alright with your parents..and fish stay healthy

Sorry about your mess.

Look the tank over if it was from the tank failing maybe you can figure it out and help someone else from having the same problem.
Is there any indication of why it broke?
Is there a center support and is it still intact?
How does the remaining seems of the glass look?

If there is no explanation for it failing then the cat must die!

think on the bright side : ) fortunately you were home when this happen, and everything every fish is alright ( except the tank) . Its all part of the fun of fishkeeping xD it happens sooner or later to everyone.

Not everyone...

Sorry to the OP for such a lousy accident!

It was some twenty years ago I was draining my 125 that developed a leak with a python hooked up too the laundry room sink. I would go and check the sink every few minutes to make sure it was still draining. Well I got caught up in cleaning the gravel and forgot to check. Something fell into the sink and plugged the drain. The sink over flowed and filled the laundry room floor with 2" of water. It took every towel from the linen closet to clean it up.
When I thought I was done I had realized my Mom's prized doll collection was in the room below in the basement. I went down there and found it raining on her doll collection.
Luckily my parents were away for the week.
I quickly hung some plastic drop cloth and directed the water into buckets. I had to replace several tiles of the drop ceiling. I sucked up as much water as I could with the shop vac, ran the dehumidifier, and had fans blowing to dry everything out.
I got everything straightened out before they got home and they were none the wiser.:naughty: I did eventually tell my Mom what happened, she wasn't mad because I cleaned it all up and nothing got ruined.

Wow, that sucks. At least the fish are and cats are okay. Hope you got some plans for them though, that's a small tank. Are they the fish in your avatar?
Yeah those are my babies they're still juvis and i cant get a new tank till august  they are just gonna have to stick it out for a little while in the 35g, it's rather long 35g tho so im hoping things will be ok. My room is right above the garage so all the water dripped into the garage so it's not that disastrous.

That sucks majorly. Sorry, man
