Why I buy fish online..

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I hear ya, vet. I am fortunate to have a great LFS 3 minutes from my house. While they don't have everything on my wish list, they do carry a pretty good selection and will eventually get what I want. Their prices aren't as low as some on here report. But for being in a small city, 4 hrs from a metro area, it ain't that bad. If you figure in shipping, it's pretty much a wash. As common as GT's are, $20 is on the high side. But add $40-60 in for shipping, and the fact that u can see they are healthy and not eat shipping again if the are DOA, it might not be as high as you think.

Theres a guy online, whom if I was hardup to just have a GT now, I could get 5 2"GT from for 35$ and free shipping with live arrival guarantee. So it's hard to rationalize 20" being ok, when I would want to get a few of them to get a pair for 75g.

Right there with you. Down to 1 decent lfs where I live and they have a very average selection of central/south cichlids. I've just accepted that if I want new fish, I'm shopping online for them.
