Why I love Clown Loaches

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I miss having some around. I was thinking of getting some again, but I have no room. I liked how they actually school together. I've only had 2 types of fish that did this and CLs were one of them. My Congo Tetras did that also. I currently have some other Tetras and Cories and they are kind of all over the place...not what I wanted.:irked:

The way mine vacuumed up the failed pellet training attempt for my baby jar right when I put them in my tank. :D The way they tightly school and eat out of my fingers. I also love watching mine play football with snails, lol.

For me it would be the
1) the way they play in currents created by the power head.
2) the way they hang out together with everyone else in the tank and don't take any crap from anyone else.
3) the way they go totally crazy as soon as a snail hits the water.
4) Anything that can entertain me for hours at a time is just plain awesome!!!

By FAR my favorite fish, I LOVE:
(1) The way they beg for food when they are hungry (the "dancing" up and down the front of the tank)
(2) The mystery about the fish - one of the most commonly kept, but yet so little is known about their natural behavior, specifically - their breeding
(3) The clicking noise they make when they are (a) happy w/ the food you gave them or (b) pissed off at eachother
(4) Their uniquie personalities
(5) The way they lay on their sides
(6) The way they dig in the substrate for food/snails
(7) They way they chase their reflections when there is no substrate
(8) Their social behavior w/ one 'n another
(9) The way the look when they ambush the worm feeder full of live black worms
(10) How cute the look when eating cucumber

Things I HATE:
(1) What a PAIN they are to catch
(2) When they get "skinny disease" Its always a hunt to determine the actual cause/how to best treat
(3) What a FRACKIN, BLEEPIN PAIN they are to catch
(4) Always worry about catching them, no matter how large the net, worry about them getting caught in the net w/ their spikes
(5) They squeeze themselves into the smallest and sometimes DUMBEST places that they can get themselves into, and then can't get themselves out of - I have had to bang a piece of wood on the floor to get a stuck loach out ... yes, I still have that loach, but what a dumbA--.....

Em
