My parents dont want me to get a 300+ gallon tank and i do. vote yes, i should, or no i shouldnt, and then post a reason why or why not. im going to show this to them no matter what you post so here goes!

Go ]v[onster or go home! :headbang2

If you live with the folks you need to listen to them. Once you are in your own place then you can get your 300+:headbang2:headbang2:headbang2 Just be patient. Maybe come to a compromise and get a 220. Thats not exactly a small tank you know:grinno::grinno:

If you get a 300 you probably aren't going anywhere... Are you really willing to stay with your parents for that much longer or otherwise move that monster tank?

300 is a good start. Just kidding. Depending on your age and money situation try to sit with them calmly and tell them how this is a passion of yours and how it would be nice if you were supported. Compared to everything else going on in todays world its a great alternative to other more insidious things that one could get into. You can also show them how it will make you more responsible in terms of what it takes to take care of such a big project.

If they dont go for it then suggest a happy middle ground, how about a 240 as a show of good faith?

How old are you? Put it this way, I voted yes because a 300+ would just be awesome, but I live with my parents and dont have a tank larger than 90 or any stingrays because they dont want it in their house. Im moving out in a couple months and will get my monster than. So, Id listen to your parents, but still try and convince them!

It depends: Are you planning to keep your parents in this tank?

i agree w/ bichirsrule. if you will be moving on your own soon or to collage you will have enuf to do. we have been in our house four years and are moving next month and am not looking forward to setting up tanks while living out of boxes, moving furniture in, and getting utilitys handled all in one weekend.

300 gallons....some of us can only dream about owning one that big someday....but you kinda gotta go with what the p's say....no sense in getting it and having them throw you out....then you might have to sell this awesome tank to someone on this website for a reduced price to take it off your hands....
wait, in that case....get it for sure....
