Environmental and environmentalist issues have a much higher chance of success with our current group in congress than they may have in previous years. Many of the majority have won their seats with very "green" focused campaigns. Anything that smacks of being a good cause for environmentalism, even some of the more radical ideas like this one, has a very good chance of succeeding. That is probably why everyone is so worried NOW. ??

first of all, the "green" movement is economically gainful as well as environmentally smart. thats the reason most eco-movements pass. the government is most pro-economy than it ever will be environmental. the HR669 will entail the wipe-out of one of america's biggest cashflows, when a bill gets THIS much in the way of our business, the gov will be fighting the bill directly as it is stated now.

like cigarettes, they haven't been 100% outlawed because of their economical and private benefits that the gov. (now more than ever) doesn't want to loose.

i believe if the bill passes, they would have to water it down very drastically to keep the pet business profitable.

Thats how bills like this get passed. Ask yourself this. Would you rather we make our voices heard that this bill is a bad idea or be silent and let them think its what everyone wants so go ahead and pass it? Sorry but your friends an idiot. Thinking this bill will never pass because the ones in the past haven't passed so why worry or speak up, is exactly whats going to help this bill succeed in the future.

I agree let people become complacent just a little bit more let them become apathetic and do nothing then when its to late do what you want its to late
