Why Is Fish Keeping So Damn Hard!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
every time i buy a fresh water puffer it never lives even with brackish water also fresh water moray eels.

I have to agree with the over filtartion thing, it really is such a peace of mind.
I reared baby pleuro's with no probs and never had a death. 10g tank with a fluval 404 as a filter.

My 180g tank has 3X ehiem proII's and a fluval 404 plus a UV steralizer, I have not checked the water for about 6 months, I just check the fish :)

Oh and the small 20% water change weekly or bi weekly.

With FW I have never had a problem. I do 50%+ weekly waterchanges. For filtration, I only run a Rena XP3, on a 120 gallon aquarium. But for my FW angel tank, which is 29 gallons, I run a penguin 350, which is more then 10 times the volume moved per hour. The more flow the better the fish seem to do, and even angels can adapt to a strong flow, as long as it is a wide pattern, not a tight pattern.

SW on the other hand I have had more losses, but that was due to acclimation, not water quality.

dood fishkeeping is ez for me cuz i use a hot magnum, and a emp.400
i keep 2 fish an aro and an oscar...there are no problems ever!!!
even if i were to introduce new fish the fish just settles in and its normal...
ive never had ich

I agree with everyone who said changing 50% at least of water weekly is the secret to healthy fish!Since ive been doing that havent seen any disease in my tanks
