Why is height important in a ray tank?

don;t you think that 'like' is anthropomorphizing and that really they climb the walls because they are there in the way, not because they 'like' to? If they had a few extra square meters of floor space which would the ray choose do you think?
:)

i've seen 16" disc rays in a 10'x8'x3' pond climbing walls and thats more sufficent for that size ray. IMO it depends on the personality of the ray.....if they are a constant climber and overly active, then i would say go taller, but if they arent as active climbers 18" should suffice

I think if a ray has enough space, it won't climb the walls..

I think if a ray is well fed, it won't climb the walls..

Most rays are in smaller domestic tanks, and are always hungry.. Thus, "they enjoy climbing the walls!"

When rays 'search' for food in the wild, they can 'climb' over or around any obstacle in their way..

My rays only climb the walls when they smell krill in the water. They are 4-5" retics in a 96x30".. otherwise, they NEVER climb.

Height is good for water volume, primarily.

i prefer 24" but that should be fine rook..... personally the deeper the better but you should be good there
