Why is it never enough?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You are suffering from STS, aka Small Tank Syndrome. Most of MFKers have it. There is no cure because once you get a bigger tank you will overstock it and want a even bigger tank.

well I am building my large tank for my garage right now (4,000 gallons) but I am afraid that a week after i set it up I will be wanting to build something larger. I guess that is just how it goes though. lol

I am the same way. I am so nit picky when it comes to setting up the most beautiful aquascaping I can and always move stuff around. I watch a show call Hoarders and am wondering if you can be an animal hoarder for having too much fish? I would die laughing if I saw an episode like that!

I'm happy with my stock but would like one more discus. But yes I always want a bigger tank that's just how it is.

I'm not into big tanks, mainly because I don't have anywhere to put one (or three, five, seven), but I can't help buying more. Currently I have a 46 bowfront and a 6g in the living room, a 10g hospital tanks in the kitchen, a 40g breeder, 20long and 10g in the spare bedroom/office. But, I also have a 50g seaclear ssytem II and a 55g (both 2nd hand) and a new 40g breedere sitting empty in the garage, two 10g's outside on the deck and another 10g empty in the kitchen.
Have to start calling round some contractors pretty soon to see who's gonna charge the least to jack my house up and level it, somehow I think I'm going to be getting them to reinforce the floor under the spare bedroom..........hmmmm just how big a tank could I fit against a 9ft wall?

We have all been there, my current tank is too small so im getting a bigger one on wednesday but that will be it. There comes a time when you just have to say enough, im happy with what ive got.

What made me come to that decision was the fact that i cant keep forking out money for bigger tanks and filters and i cant keep making regular visits to the lfs and picking up something, i also dont have the space for any more tanks so my new tank will be the last tank and im cool with that.

cheers-

Darren

I also have small tank syndrome. Haha! I went from a 10g to a 29g to a 55g to a 150g. I'm looking for a 300 now and am making plans to convert my sons room to a fish room when he moves out. Yeah, he's only 3...;)
