WHY IS IT SO HARD FOR TIGERS TO BREED?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They take longer time to reach maturity and grow very big as well thus most people think that it hard to breed. Provide them good water, ample space and some patience, surely they can do the job.

Just my opinion though.

5 people have shown to actually breed tiger rays... (i think its 5 proven cases of CB)

:WHOA::drool:

I think another reason you dont see tigers or flower bred in captivity much is the fact they are significantly more sensitive then other rays so getting them up to size is a task in itself.

Agree with you.

Shedd Aquarium was noted as the first in the US to captive breed them. Might be world as well, but I'm not 1005 sure on that. There are about half a dozen proven CB tiger/flowers now.

Like most posted, the size of them at a mature age has prevented most private hobbiest from doing so.
