Why is it that every time I move a fish it dies?

Thanks for the replies guys. There are no other fish picking on them. They're the biggest in the tank.

There is tons of O2. My sump has a wet/dry drip through section and when I change water the check valve cavitates and blows bubbles through the tank for a few hours. Not to mention my intake has a surface skimmer so the surface has no film.

When I moved them I lowered the water to around 4-6 inches and they basically swam right into the net. I floated the bag in the new tank for 20 minutes and poked a few small holes in it to slowly exchange water.

Now I'm wondering if there is something else contaminating the water so I'm going to put some carbon in the sump to see if I can absorb it up. I painted the walls with pool paint so I'm wondering if that's fish safe.....

Are your other fish doing okay.. this would indicate whether it is causing the problem..

I've had 6 tin foil barbs in there for over 2 months as well as many feeders and they are fat and happy. Well, not the feeders any more...:naughty: But I moved the 14" Aro at the same time and it seems to be doing ok.

Very good question,i lost 3 bowfin with the same problem.actually 2 to moving, the 3rd didn't get moved just quit eating, got fin rot and died,i moved the other two because they all started in the same tank, one grew faster and started tearing up the smaller two, after the big one was alone, thats when it wasted away
