i cant tell if its the sand reflecting the light or just the light but i hate it. and the wood has been in the tank for along time with plenty of water changes so it isn't tannins.

also any suggestions how to make it more natural would be appreciated. everything is but the decorating supporting the large piece of wood.

cant have plants because i got a bunch of plant eaters.

im thinking of dropping in either a fahaka puffer, spotted gar, or jardini...

probably the light? or mabye the sand. but most likely the color of the light. but if you've had that light and the water just turned yellow over time, try a 40-60% water change.

once happed to my 75 g. 50% WC fixed it.

or just CARBON :D

Alge bro..u need some alge remover...it'll clean out in about 1-2 days

you talking about the way the water looks?

First you can try cleaning of the glass on the inside looks like a lot of algae build up, you could be looking through some on the front and not realize it.

its probably because of your lighting though?

What kind of lights are you using? my 55 looked like it had tannis with the light i was using, after changing the light it looked crystal clear.

Take some water and put it in a white cup. If its yellow then the wood is the culprit. If its clear get some bulbs with a higher kelvin rating. Around 8k is a nie blueish hue and looks real nice. -----------PS a fahaka will kill everything you put with it. No matter how small or large.

and as far as suggestions for decorations I actually like the look of the tank with the wood how it is. I cant tell what is fake from the picture.

its all real except a small structure under the large wood. its like a ceramic thing.

the water itself is actually crystal clear...i got a python. it just has a yellow tint.

if it is the sand...i might just dump black gravel over it. sucks...

would i have to replace all the light bulbs or just a few

I have play sand (looks similar to yours) in my 125 with just two 36 standard florescent lights. 30 watts each. doesnt look yellow in my tank.

whats the wattage and kelvin ratings on your bulbs and size?

a background might help to. Not only does it hide everything in the back, it will block a lot of the light coming in from that window in the bank and could help with algae as well.
