hes just started picking up his gravel in his mouth and spitting it out over the other side of the tank, then hes moved all the plants from one side to the other, moved his ornament. and hes been attacking the plant and come away with a whole branch earlier, bless him.
other than that hes fine, his colours have come out beautifully, his eyes are blood red, and eating properly.

lol am guessing he want to breed? lol is he in the tank alone ?

Regardless whether they are in breeding mode or not, all cichlids including FHs do this as their instincts.

cheers JP.
i do have a female but how would i breed if that was the case?
hes just started doin it in the last 2 days.
IF i were to breed my female is only about 4" and hes 5 maybe 6", arnt they still too young?

its definately in their nature although it its specific to individual fish. My current FH could care less about the gravel and driftwood in his tank, all he want is food ;)

i've seen some that dig like there's no tomorrow.

I've had red devil/midas's before and every single one of them rearranged the tank like how your's is doing right now.

it just makes me laugh, my mum thinks he is, how do i put it, bats for the other team, and is just tryin to make his place tidy lol
he seems a bit happier now everything is in the corner all bunched up. but he gets really aggrivated by it, u can see him gettin angry by it not bein in the right place! hes a moody lil B**t**d!!!

My sisters Texas does the same thing. Instinct as JP says. If you wanted to try breeding it, set up a divider and put the female on the other side. Gauge the reaction to determine if you should remove the divider. And I like the new hair color.
