That is a Channa Asiatica.
It is a SUB TROPICAL fish.
Your water is too warm.

Also this fish should MOST DEFINATLY not be kept with other fish.
Looks to me like it has stress markings on it.

Seriously, your tank is too small for any of these fish on their own, let alone together. IMO it is cruel to keep them like this. Do yourself and the fish a favor, rehome them.

thank you for your suggestions, i really dont know that they cant be kept with others, i think i might have put pressure on it, indeed im going to move them into new tanks as i mentioned in that thread so no sooner they be moved in much bigger tanks...no worry!

As are good friend gasmask has stated a subtropical species at that temp for pro-longed periods will not do it any good, it will become very stressed and ill..

Also those tank mates are no good for this guy, he will cower in fear, people beleive snakeheads are aggressors, not true, they actually are wimps and need to be housed correctly, i added some of my juvi ornatipinnis a while ago to my commuinity tank, until i managed to score another tank, they were petrified, so i felt it safer to move them back to there group tank, which they soon went about there normaility again..

Snakeheads have gained a bad reputation amounst people which is totally un-waranted.

Putra do you mean keeping marulia and marulioides together ?
No good idea, both species are to similar, and will cause fighting .
Better no channa in community tanks.

if they are kept together in one species, will it be ok?
i mean marulioides with marulioides only, no other channa with them..

i hv 4 snakeheads (marulioides) before two of them died for unknown reason..
both of them died in the same way..
stiff, and mouth shut..they are not floating, but they stiff below the tank, silently died..

i just wanna know the reason why they died that way..
can somebody explain this situation for me?
