I would go with a different pump if you have the option. I have a Gen-X which is the same design and it is fairly loud.

Bro I recently had this same issue and tried everything to fix it. I tried padding the pvc, limiting the flow by valve, bracketing the pump, moving it in several different positions and everything. It was so loud I could hear it upstairs, after doing all that I come home and its whisper quite. My brother was maintaining the tank and added more water to the sump and moved a sponge blocking the return. Now the pump is whisper quite. I have a aqua euro an off brand name I can barely hear it now. You have a more well known brand pump this should not be happening. My pump is the highest rated available and its quite. I was about a day away from purchasing another pump and went to 2 stores to actually check them out. Turns out all the vibration and noise had something to do with restrictive flow and not enough water in the sump. Try removing all of the sponges and removing anything that can be restricting flow. If flow is being restricted the pump will become louder. I think this is your problem. I swear I tried everything in the book and my stupid brother fixed it by accident and saved me dropping another couple hundred bucks. Like I said my pump is some off brand and its no longer loud. It must have something to do with this...

also all your pipes will rattle like crazy if the flow is being restricting....

if your pipes are rattling as well. Im pretty sure that this is the issue. I tried everything and I know how you must feel. I really hope this helps I never really post but I understand how annoying it could be.

Most of the magnetic pumps are laud some worst then other but i remenber how frustated i was with my first pump a quietone, nothing but quiet it seems like a locomotive i did some research and people toll me panworld was a much quiet pump i end up buying that pump it was a bit quiet but still noisy so i try something else poseidon 3 and 4 and i tell you this pump are truely quiet you have to put your hand so see if they are running the other pump like that its a red dragon but very expensive i hope this help you on your quest for quiet pump

I'm actually looking at picking up a Quiet One 2200, from what I hear under the 4000 there actually quiet, after that they get noisier, im looking to buy new though so if its loud I will just take it back and get a different one...
