Why is my tinfoil swimming or hovering vertically?

Thanks for the reply buddy,will he be in pain do you think,should i put him down or just leave him as he is.

If he's eating and out in the open then no. If he's not showing signs of stress he's probably not in pain. Leave him as he is it may progress to that stage but not currently.
 
Yeah, sounds like swim bladder. Sometimes fish can recover from it. It's odd that he's still eating though, because usually (in my experience) they don't eat if they have swim bladder because they're stressed. Epsom salt is good to use against swim bladder.
