Why is this filter so cheap?

Those are decent filters. They are so cheap because it's a pond pressure filter. You need to use it with an external/submersible pump, it doesn't have and internal one. Yes the work for an aquarium.

Then that's not very cheap for a canister filter,now you have to run out and find a suitable pump for it.

Ive been running a sun sun for about 3 years now and I love it. I would recommend it to anybody.
