Why it doesnt appear???

Guys...why my orino's body pattern doesn't appear bold like your orinos ya???
Now it has already 8" long, It is big enough for cichla to show their body pattern isn't it?

Do you have a closer picture with out the red question mark on it? Could be stressed out.
 
No...it is orino, here is its close up pic....
It almost never show his bold pattern unless it aware of something new in aquarium such as new fish

I take it the orino is the runt of the tank?
 
im not an expert on cichla, but i had a farmy that looked just like the first pic, the last one im not sure, but it doesnt look like any orino i have seen here or on the web
 
is it in a different tank from the tank in the first pic???
 
has he shown those markings and colors in the other tank? might be the water chemistry or background/substrate?

Captive bred fish tends to lose color through out there generations. In most cases, some tend to keep there color due to selective breeding to produce intents color, but some "farms" breed them to get quantity not quality. In OP's case, it might me for quantity not quality.
