why my asian arowana acts strange?

how is your airation?
you say he stays by the bubbles, perhaps you should add some more airstones or powerheads.
 
From experience, when nitrates are high aros tend to sulk at the bottom. Aros are very sensitive to nitrates and ammonia. Just do a bigger wc and get some testing strips for ammonia,nitrates,nitrites etc...
