I had two pbass but one died this morning. I had trouble feeding it becuase the bigger pbass would eat all of the rosy that i threw in even when i feed them at the opposite side of the tank at the same time. I then put in a tank divider in hopes that the smaller one would eat, but it didn't. i straved it for a few days and then threw in two rosy reds to see if it would eat and it still didn't eat and a few days later it died. so i was wondering did it die from not eating or from something else. this is my first time taking care of pbass so any thoughts would be helpful. thanks!!

I am not a pbass expert but I had two die on me and from what I was told they are hard to keep when they are young. A lot of times if the temperature of the tank is just a little bit different than what they are used to they can get stressed out and die.

Internal parasites?? Would my other pbass catch it too?? I keep my temp around 80 and 85 it bounce between depending on the weather. It's getting kinda cold here in Minnesota. The one that died is 5in and the other one is a little bit bigger.

Parasites would have come from the feeders, so yes, your other fish could get them too, since he's on feeders, as well. Are you quarantining feeders before you feed?

Sorry to hear about one of your pbass. What sizes are they? how long was it that the smaller one haven't eaten? Only thing i can think of is just like what the others said... internal parasites.

from my experience, whenever I buy a batch of young pbass, 1 or 2 may end up dying on you. get them on shrimp as soon as you can. I've had some them taking shrimp as small as 3". some will tell you it's healthier to keep them on feeders until they get bigger.

the ones i've gotten to take shrimp survived in the past. once on shrimp you can train them to take pellets and tilapia fillet and things like that. that's just my experience

I already tried getting them off feeders. I starved them then i put in some hikari krill. They both strike the krill but as soon as they got it into there mouth it came back out. I tried a few more times then i went back to the feeders b/c they haven't eaten in a while. Give me some tips to get'em off feeders.
