Why NOT to hand feed a hungry armatus!!!

OUCH!! I was hand feeding smelt and before the food hit the water the armatus leaped up and tagged me and the food! You can clearly see in the last pic that because I was holding the smelt between my thumb and index finger by the tail, each fang went in to each finger! I am pretty sure it went to the bone and I am still bleeding! I type all day at work and I got a feeling my fingers are going to sore tomorrow!!

I'm just glad he is only about 10" and not 20"!!

It didnt hurt when it happened but its sore as all get out and the spot on my thumb is exactly where I hit the space bar so I am typing with one hand right now, luckily I am good at that! lol

He did get my trigger finger but that shouldnt stop me!

Like a girl! haha no I didnt, in true ]v[ONSTER style I ran for the camera! My wife who was sitting on the couch at the time just called me an idiot, after I told her what happened, and then went to bed.

Lately I have had to hand feed the armatus cause his two tank mates have teeth just as nasty but they are much more aggressive then he is but more skittish to above water motion so with one hand I have it over the tank to scare them and the other I drop in front of the armatus so he can get some food. I guess he knew what was coming this time and got me instead!
