why was forum down so long?

So what people were looking for was a post on facebook that said that the MFK site wasn't working?
Wasn't it obvious when ya tried to get onto MFKthat it wasn't working? People really needed someone telling them this
A lot of people might think that they where having a problem with browser settings or their internet provider's security settings etc. There's reasons other than technical issues with the site that people may have have thought was wrong and the reason for them being unable to access the site and without an announcement no one would know if the issue was on their end. For instance I haven't been able to get on the site for several days. I think Friday was the first day I noticed an issue I had to keep checking back all day and got on every once in awhile. Then MFK disappeared for me all together without me knowing if there was something wrong on my end or if the site was having an issue etc. A very simple announcement would have stopped all those people myself included from inquiring about the issue on the FB page. Besides if the FB page is a secondary medium what's wrong with expecting an announcement saying "the site is having technical issues and we will be back as soon as possible"? What's the point of the FB page if it's not monitored? Is it just a medium to convey your like of the MFK site? None of that's meant to belittle my appreciation of the site or the hard work put into it, but I think that I myself and others asking about why there was no announcement is a reasonable question.
Would you also like them to post on the facebook page that the site is now working?
Once people are aware that the site is down due to an issue on the sites end and that things are being done to repair it and the fix time is unknown, I can't see why people can't after knowing those things check periodically for themselves. As I stated people may think that there was an issue on their end so what's wrong with informing members so they don't go crazy trying to fix their own settings or calling their internet provider trying to fix a problem that isn't on their end? I've seen plenty of threads where such things caused problems for people trying to access the site, so apparently it does happen even among our senior members. Or is it your contention that asking about technical difficulties and it's impact on the members is unreasonable? In that case why have a bug section, the Mod's will eventually find the problem for themselves and fix it in due time. Also why choose to answer my post with a question? What is it your trying to convey? That myself and others are unreasonable for asking a question? Or am I misunderstanding your intention?

There is a MFK chat group me and a few others started on FB, but it's pretty much inactive now, and the thread was deleted, I assume because someone was causing problems, but the group has been seriously inactive for a good while and I assume that the problems are passed.

I participated in your MFK ''chat'' group for a few days. A complete trainwreck IMO. Just a bunch of teenagers popping off a bunch of non fish related jibberish. There is an actual MFK fanpage that we are discussing. A page where important info on things such as the latest server crash can be communicated.

ok, but seriously, if you go here and go halfway down the page to Is Monsterfishkeepers.com Down? it's supposed to tell you if the site is up or not. no idea how accurate it is though.
