Could someone please answer this question!!!! I look around on this site and see member after member posting pictures of multiple Aros in one tank, but when I try it they fight to the point where they need to be separated!!! Why is it that all of these other people can do it but I cant??? Is it just luck of the draw??? I am passionate about 2 spieces of fish, Arowanas and Stingrays. I can put as many Stingrays as I want in a tank (as long as the tank is big enough lol) but as soon as I introduce a 2nd Aro I get a big fight in my hands!!!! My girlfriend and I have big plans to build a huge tank into our house and its a shame that we will only be able to have one of our favorite fish in the tank. What am I doing wrong???

You can't just throw two aros in a tank like that. You usually are going to have to add them into the same in a certain order, depending on a species of aro and size...

Thats what I did, I have 8 fish in the tank, one is a 10" silver, I introduced a 7" silver yesterday and the 10"er imediatley started chasing the new one and snapping at her (or him). I had to get the new one out of there real quick...

Doesn't really matter that much what "other" non arowana fish are in your tank, it matter what aros you have.

Usually if you put just two silvers in a tank, they will fight, although some people have success growing them out together from a small size (like 4-6"), but in many cases it doesn't work out unless you have 5+ aros.

It's just luck, there is no rhyme or reason to it. It doesn't matter the number you have. Ive had 5 fail, 4 fail, 4 workout, 3 fail, 3 workout, 2 fail, 2 workout the only number that guarantees success is one.

Just have to keep trying, eventually you'll find a combo that works.

Thats what I thought, I figured it was luck. The problem is to get one thats big enough to not intantly get eatin Ive gotta get one at least 7 or 8 inches, thats about $80.00 a pop where Im from. Thats a lot of money for trial and error lol.

Not if it has the tail-biting disorder. :grinno:
