Why, Why, Why...

yeah the best is to get them pretty close the same time before they claim their territory try buy 4-6 at one time this would definitely be the better way to go rather than introducing one at a time.

There's always the chance of just having an aro that won't ever like other ones. Your 10" one might just be aggressive to other aro's forever.

Tank size matters. Bigger the better. Less provocation.

I got lucky putting aros together. I put 2 silvers together-1 at 7-8" and one at 14-16". They still get along after a couple months with no issues. I had a baby jar in with them and had to remove the jar because he was picked on. In my big tank I have a monster sized jar in with clown knives tf barbs and a FL gar with no issues. My point is that it is a trial and error situation with aros and tankmates. Just always be ready to separate them in case of trouble.

food and tank setup really do a big part to calm the aro as well. If you aro is aggressive eater then chance are it will be aggressive to other. Sometime you have to bare with the fight, it will stop once it got bored, and its best to start comm with big aro as it can handle the injury, unlike 5 or 6" aro just one bite and its gone.
